pure-water-purifiers
for Drinking Pure Water as in Venice!
Home
Did you know that in Venice you would not need pure-water-purifiers?
If you had the lucky chance of visiting Venice this past June 2008 (yes, it is Venezia for Italians) you would have spotted on the walls an intriguing poster staring at you.
It shows the portrait of a bearded young man, the smiling Mayor of Venice, Professor Massimo Cacciari, pouring water from a carafe into a glass. He invites everybody to drink "his" water, right from the tap at home and from the 122 drinking-fountains all over town.
The caption says: "Tap water does not produce waste and packaging [...], it is good, safe, controlled each day and reaches directly every home".
You too deserve to enjoy the same good, safe, controlled quality water as in Venice! (and in a few other spots...)
Why should you care?
Why should you drink, cook and use your distasteful local tap water? If it is of low quality and polluted, that is if it is not processed through pure-water-purifiers, it is not only bad, it may be unhealthy.
In the long range it may be dangerous to the well being of your loved ones. A report on Drinking Water Contamination by the Natural Resources Defense Council points just to this conclusion. (See Our Children at Risk in our page on Water Contamination).
It states, among other things that "Infants and children drink more than two and a half times as much water as adults as a proportion of their body weight. Therefore they are more vulnerable to the effects of unhealthy drinking water."
The quality of water used to make infant formula drinks is critical to their healthy development. That is an important reason to use pure-water-purifiers.
Is there a way out? Oh yes, possibly more than one. The problem is how to cut through the confusion, how to pick up the pure-water-purifiers solution making the most sense for you.
We can help you sort them out...
by showing you how to find, through Research, the Quality Water you deserve.
Bottled Water
People on the move became accustomed to procure bottled water in plastic containers. Although practical, it is an expensive solution. For a household it is utterly unacceptable.
Furthermore independent research showed that often bottled water quality is questionable. We report separately on a few studies that reach this conclusion. (See our page on Water Quality).
Plastic containers are not impervious to change and degradation.
A heavy cost is paid by whoever buys them and by society at large just to throw away the empty plastic bottles into the environment.
Are you ready for Some Research?
Intrigued by the importance of the subject and by the abundance of proposed solutions I began researching the problem for myself, and delving deeper as I went along.
Hi, I am a Elia Levi, a retired engineer who understands and appreciates the facts exposed in the relevant reports. I am ready to share some of the results of my investigation with readers interested and willing to explore the benefits likely to stem to them from a dispassionate examination of the issues involved in pure-water-purifiers.
I believe that people should be able to find unbiased information for orientation in arguments likely to bear substantial influence on decisions affecting their own life.
A collection of most common information is presented in a separate page on Water Resources. Readers may browse through that page for being reminded of basic facts.
Meaningful scientific Research is performed by qualified Professors in dedicated Institutes to find connections between causes and effects.
In this case subtle water quality and composition details may be linked to long time effects on health or illness conditions. This kind of research is too specialized to be of help to the general public looking for pure-water-purifiers.
Besides that, technological progress is continuously evolving the means and improving the performance of process implementation.
Consider the following...
Benefits:
Given that the tap water provided in most of the civilized world (see the Report What's on Tap? in our page on Water Quality) is, at best, of low or inconstant quality, they recommend (see there, further down that page) to use one of the suitable Water Filtering and Purification Systems or pure-water-purifiers that provide a convenient, continuous supply of healthy, good tasting drinking and cooking water.
What does this mean to you?
That you are free from worry, if you accept their advice, about yourself and your loved ones' ingesting contaminated unhealthy water and endangering your health. Would you consider it a worthy proposition? You probably do.
Material for Thought
However, if you wish to get an informed idea of basic information concerning water, one of the most important life sustaining substances, you may profit from following a loose Syllabus presenting in a certain logic sequence the main facts to take into account.
I prepared this Guided Tour of Articles and Reports from various Sources reachable online from the links provided. The purpose is to let anyone browse through the pages, click on the links and retain in human or computer memory the information useful for getting an opinion suitable to help in selecting a course of action.
If you wish to follow our reasoning you are invited to see for yourself some of the reports readily available, by moving through the following pages, preferably in the suggested order.
Readers may dig as deep as they feel fit to satisfy their curiosity and to get sufficient knowledge to judge further information with a critical eye.
Here is an easy path of five steps covering the following subjects:
- Water and Health.
- Water Contamination.
- Water Purification and Chlorination.
- Tap and Bottled Water Quality.
- Filtering
Readers impatient with too much Research and ready to skip the several and thorough References provided, may wish to go straight to our Filter Advice page to explore if any of the recommendations might be suitable for their unique situation, or to see directly our preferred supplier's Homepage.
Wishing you Safe and Pure Drinking Water...
